“Hardly Ever” by Anya Thomson (Jazz artist from United Kingdom)
"Hardly Ever" by Anya Thomson is a very groovy and memorable jazz collection that had us amazed. WOW! This CD demonstrates great talent, superb musicianship, and top-notch production that portrays a very live feel. "Sleuths, Scoundrels, Saints And Sinners" introduces listeners to the very beautiful vocal performances of Anya. Her pitch-perfect, airy vocal tone adds a thick emotional atmosphere to these songs. Lyrically, these songs are poetically sharp, emotion-invoking, and quite memorable. The upbeat "Good And Wrong!" flaunts some very audacious instrumental runs, including a very memorable piano and saxophone run. Bearing the whole-package, "Hardly Ever" is one album well worth a listen for any jazz fan, and also any pop music fan that enjoys artists such as Norah Jones.

"O Holy Night" by Elizabeth (Easy Listening/Spiritual artist from Oklahoma (OK))
"O Holy Night" by Elizabeth is a 3-song collection of spiritual songs that feature the incredible voices of Bet and Ashtyn Wallace. The strong and lilting rendition of an old favorite religious melody, "O Holy Night," brings the talent of both mother and daughter to light, and displays the especially beautiful mix of their voices when they harmonize. Both vocalists have pitch-perfect vibrant voices and clear diction which enhances their performances. The keyboard work at the beginning of "I Don't Wanna Go" gives a full appreciation of the strong backup work on this selection and blends extremely well with the gentle voices of the vocalists. If you enjoy beautiful spiritual music or emotionally-moving female vocalists, you will enjoy this CD.

“Flowers and Frolic” by Pene Kingsford (R&B artist from New Zealand)
"Flowers and Frolic" is a CD featuring the impressive vocals of Pene Kingsford. Pene's soft vocal style and clear diction is nicely accented by the musical accompaniment, which includes mainly songs with a gentle, acoustic jazzy feel, and a few with a more urban R&B feel. The production on the CD is creative, adding interesting backing instrumentation, sounds, and counterparts. The musicianship is strong. "Lily" is an urban R&B track that interestingly combines male and female rap asides with its lead female vocal. The introduction and back up in "Fibre and the Weave" bring a slightly different flavor to this collection. The title track is a beautiful song that brings out the sensual side of Penne's vocals and nicely adds saxophone fills. Whether you're a fan of jazz or a fan of modern singer-songwriters, this CD will add a nice relaxing atmosphere to your evenings of leisure.

"A Thought" by Bob and the Fritsch (Rock artist from Florida (FL))
"A Thought" by Bob and the Fritsch is a twistedly eclectic collection of songs that are a reflection of a journey through one man's mind - Bob's mind, that is. The sound is experimental and is influenced by 60's Brit rock and surf music. Your ears will stand at attention while listening to this album. It is unpredictable and creative while retaining a classic sound. Highlights include the title track, "A Thought". Bob's throaty spoken word vocals mixed with beautiful surf progressions combine to produce a winner. "Duality" has a nice bouncy rhythm mixed with unassuming guitar tracks. "Microscopic Dot" features a beautifully played acoustic guitar progression and gets intimate with Bob's voice. If you like Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen, give this album a try.

"Bay Princess" by the young and talented rapper Asia B is an attention-demanding hip-hop album. Energetic beats, memorable musical leads, and audacious lyrics are just a few of the noteworthy features of this CD. The creative and well-balanced production is also worth noting. The CD is impressive, especially considering that Asia B apparently recorded this at the age of 12! "Princess of the Bay" stands out as musically catchy and flaunts Asia's powerful rapping style. The heavily beat-driven "Best in the Buildin" is sure to get listeners up and moving. Moreover, "15's Slappin'" is yet another stand out track, introducing the talents of two other very skilled rappers. If you enjoy discovering talented young hip-hop artists, check out this CD.

“Valentine Parade” by Chancellorpink (Pop Artist from Pennsylvania(PA))
"Valentine Parade" by Chancellorpink is an intriguingly memorable adult underground rock collection. The very first thing that jumps out of these tunes is their experimental creativity and the effectively unusual vocal performances. Exploring a variety of tones, filters, and harmony and background arrangements, the vocals on "Valentine Parade" are quite diverse, unusual, and creative, and thereby hard to forget. Additionally, the musical backdrops of these tracks are equally as eclectic. The somewhat eerie "Red Wedding Dress" does a great job of demonstrating the creativity this band employs in both their music and vocal arrangements. "The Red Sea" and "She Came In Dreams" assumes a heavy rock edge, with the former radiating a strong dose of experimentation. "Step Up 2 the Mike" by Just Mike (Pop Artist from Minnesota(MN))
"Step Up 2 the Mike" by Just Mike is and eclectic marriage of beats and soul. It is definitely a hip-hop album, but what makes this album unique is it's attention to emotion - even in it's most bumping and flowing of states. You won't hear the same old, same old with this album. It's a nice mix of 'old school' and 'new school'. The sound is fresh. Highlights include "This Way", a very heartfelt song with strong lyrics and a nice delivery. "Go Get It" is naughty and dirty with an industrial flair. "Crater's Edge" has a nice beat and is mysterious (in a Radiohead sort of way). If you like Hip-Hop with an experimental edge, you will like this one.

"The Mask" by Ebbandflow is an experimental progressive rock album brought to you by eight fine musicians. This album is an array of sounds presented in an array of styles. There is a strong Middle Eastern influence present throughout the album, but you could say it is jazzy, ambient rock for the most part. EJ Strong's "Live in Houston" is a funkified high-energy gospel album that definitely "takes you to church". The spirit of the band is certainly captured on these tracks and the songs are rich and soulful. EJ's voice booms and every ounce of energy is put into every single word. You can't ignore the back up singers too. They mean business. Combine that with a tight band and lively arrangements, and "we have a winner". Highlights are the opener "For The Rest of My Days". It sets a memorable tone, starts off with a message and pumps up the room quickly. Although "Just Wanna Tell Ya" delivers praises the lord, the backup singers deserve some praises for this one. Renee's voice is rich, warm and very pleasant. The arrangements on the CD are unique, keeping the CD interesting throughout. There is almost an island feel with the acoustic guitar and bongos in a few of the songs. There are no limitations to the creativity and realm of sounds that make up the production of this album. You certainly don't expect to hear a thick drum machine on an album of this nature. The lyrics on the CD are spritually-focused, positive, and inspirational. Highlights are the title track "You Are," with the previously mentioned drum machine and a nice vocal performance. "I'll Be Your Boyfriend, Paris Hilton" speaks for itself and lends itself to Dan's ability to laugh at himself.
